7 Lessons I Have Learned Through my Journey with Christ

"I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."- (Philippians 1:6)

1. Be HONEST with who you are: I realized that everyone else is taken, so I might as well be myself and keep it real with you all. When it comes to who I am in Christ I like to show people the true me in the light instead of letting lies hover over me in darkness.

2. Making mistakes does not make you LESS OF A CHRISTIAN: this was something God had to let me know multiple of times especially during grad school. Romans 7: 15-25 explains the war inside of us, " I don't understand why I act the way I do. I don't do the good I want to do, and I do the evil I hate. And if I don't want to do what I do, that means I agree that the law is good. But I am not really the one doing the evil. It is sin living in me that does it. Yes, I know that nothing good lives in me- I mean nothing good lives in the part of me that is not spiritual. I want to do what is good, but I don't do it. I don't do the good that I want to do. I do the evil that I don't want to do. So if i do what i don't want to do, then I am not really the one doing it. It is the sin living in me that does it." Now the devil likes to play tricks on our minds when we sin. He wants us to believe that we can not continue our purpose as Christians. But I am here to thank God for his salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord! Cause it is through him we are able to go to God, repent and continue our journey. You have a calling and a purpose to fulfill just because you make one mistake does not mean God will take that from you. You better let the devil be ashamed and overcome your sinful ways through the strength of God.

3. You don't always have to see or feel God to know that he is there: God lives within you. There's a voice inside of me that constantly tells me,  "I love you, I will never leave you. I am always with you." and I know that's the voice of the Holy Spirit reminding me of God's love. God might not show himself to you, but he will constantly remind you of how much he loves you. Mostly on unexpected days.

4. Storms don't last forever: I now see my trials has a positive instead of negative. I use to mop around and cry every time I go through a difficult season. But now I remain joyful during those moments and see this has an opportunity for my faith to grow.

5. Believe in the STRENGTH you have through Christ: You are stronger than you think. God has equipped us with tools we need in order to tap into our inner strength through him.

6. Being TRANSPARENT is a balancing act: If you follow me on twitter you would know that I am big on self expression and I am not afraid to show my vulnerable side. To some it might seem like I am saying a little too much. But in all reality I am a very detailed person and I use my life experiences to try to help others. It's about revealing just enough to be able to encourage people in being honest about their own sins and struggles. I want to be able to help people grow through Christ. It's about building up the body of Christ instead of glorifying oneself. I would not be doing what God called me to do if I did not use my story to help people become more Christ like.

7. You can't compare yourself to other Christians: I say this because your journey and pace might be different than your fellow christian brothers and sisters. Some Christians walk quicker in their faith while others are crawling to get there. Regardless of where you are in your FAITH always remember we all have a purpose to fulfill and souls to save through Christ.

In closing, I will leave you all with this "In order to grow you must learn and in order to learn you must remain still, be patient and listen to the teach of God." - quote by yours truly

Never underestimate your journey with God
Blessings to you all
